ciarlene coleman

Ciarlene is a Southern Californian actor, writer, producer, and musician currently based in London.

As a recent transfer to the UK, she currently brings her professional experience and love of learning to East 15 Acting School.

In the US, she has worked on stage and screen with various professionals from Broadway talent to live dolphins. Stage credits include work with Disney Theatricals, La Jolla Playhouse, and The Old Globe. Screen credits include industrial assets for Technicolor, Snapchat, and Qualcomm.

Ciarlene additionally writes and produces her own works, including her solo show YOUR BEST AMERICAN GIRL, which received "Outstanding World Premiere'', "Critic’s Pick", and "Best of Fest" from the 2019 San Diego International Fringe Festival. She is currently developing a piece for the UK fringe circuit.

As an educator and community figure, she consistently advocates for protected and marginalized communities, with primary focus on arts communities of color. Ciarlene is Founding Artistic Director Emeritus of MaArte Theatre Collective, a production company of all Filipino-American theatre makers, and a member of the Consortium of Asian American Theaters and Artists (CAATA). She currently teaches youth theatre and music with Straight Up Dance and Theatre in Loughton, Essex. Previously, she taught with The Theatre School at North Coast Rep, San Diego Junior Theatre, San Diego Youth Symphony and the La Jolla Playhouse’s annual elementary school touring production, the POP Tour. Ciarlene is currently Vice-Chair of the Student Deputy Committee at Equity (UK).
