"SIMULACRA"

“My memories, my feelings…everything I knew was programmed into servers running an artificial life underground.”

Simulacra, the most famous pop star of the year 3098, finds herself in a New London alley after discovering she is an android made for mass entertainment. Through her words and personality, she shows us how human she really is. CW: strong language, substance use, racism, implied sexual exploitation, suicide mention

This piece is written and will be performed as my dissertation piece in my graduating year in the MFA Acting International Course at East 15 School of Acting. Inspired by Peter Schaffer’s Amadeus, “Simulacra” uses a cyberpunk London set one thousand years in the future to reveal how societies in the past, present, and future treat Asian femmes.

“Simulacra” will be performed live at The Corbett Theatre at the East 15 School of Acting campus in Loughton (Zone 6 off the Central Line from Debden station). The performance will additionally live streamed internationally.

*PLEASE NOTE: My performance will be a part of International Voices Show C, performing ONLY on Saturday.
