Your Favourite American Woman, written and performed by Ciarlene Coleman and directed by Sofia Zaragoza and choreographed by Alara Koroglu from Off the Beat Productions, will be having a run at this year’s Camden Fringe Festival for five nights this August at the Canal Cafe Theatre. The show previously ran at The Glitch as a part of the 2025 Lambeth Fringe Festival.
Your Favourite American Woman is Ciarlene Coleman’s second original, solo production. It is also the spiritual successor to her first, YOUR BEST AMERICAN GIRL, which premiered at the 2019 San Diego Fringe Festival and was awarded Best World Premiere, Best of Fest, and Critic’s Pick. Off the Beat Productions, co-founded by Sofia Zaragoza and Alara Koroglu, is dedicated to producing thought-provoking and socially relevant theatre that amplifies diverse voices within working-class communities.
ABOUT THE SHOW
C is an Asian American woman and a history professor’s assistant, now living and working in the UK. She comes from immigrants, is an immigrant herself, and is very eager to please. But just how eager? Despite her nervous and intellectual demeanor, C’s past and emotions run deep. From show business aspirations to fleeing political instability, C has left a lot behind in America. And she still has a fresher history lecture session to teach you, through original music, choreography, and slideshow presentations. Ready for class?
